Lisa Olivia Munn was conceived in Oklahoma City. Kimberly Schmid was born in Vietnam and also has Chinese roots, but her dad Winston Barrett Munn comes from a Southern family. Olivia's parents divorced when she was just two years old and she was raised by her mother and stepfather, a member of the United States Air Force. Although the family was spread across the country, her primary residence was Tokyo, Japan. During this time she was a part of a number of local theater productions. Later, she became a model in the Japanese fashion business. Olivia moved from to the United States back to Los Angeles, where she pursued her dreams of being an actor. Following a series of minor roles, Olivia found success in her first major role in the role of Mily Acua on the Hawaii filming of the TV show Beyond the Break 2006 and the role of receptionist for Rob Schneider. The G4 podcasts include "The Daily Nut" and "Formula D". Her love of surfing is something she's continued since the 2006 TV series Beyond the Break. She is also a black-belt in Taekwondo. When she was two, her mother remarried. The second time, she got married to the son of a US Air Force serviceman. Although the family moved numerous times, the vast majority of her time was spent in Tokyo Japan, the location that her stepfather was employed by the military. In the University of Oklahoma is where she completed her studies in journalism, with a minor in Japanese, drama and dramatic arts.
